Nearly 70 NM State fall and winter student-athletes earn All-WAC academic laurels

DENVER — The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has released its list of All-WAC Academic Winners for the fall and winter of 2021-22 and includes 69 student-athletes from seven of NM State’s athletic teams.
To be eligible for this honour, a student-athlete must have completed at least one year of college, have at least a 3.2 grade point average, and compete in at least 50% of the team’s competitions. A total of 1,534 student-athletes from 12 league sports have earned All-WAC academic laurels.
The Aggies women’s swimming and diving program featured the most All-WAC academic winners (21), followed closely by women’s indoor athletics (17). Women’s soccer (11) also posted a double-digit total of female student-athletes on the roster, while volleyball (eight) missed just over 10 female student-athletes.
Women’s basketball (six), men’s cross country (three) and women’s cross country (three) also placed several female student-athletes on the WAC roster.
