2006 William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award Winner Announced
Geoffrey Ward's Unforgivable Blackness scoops the prize
Geoffrey Ward's Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson has been awarded the 2006 William Hill Sports Book of the Year prize. The announcement was made at a ceremony in central London earlier this afternoon.
Commenting on the winner, Graham Sharpe of William Hill said:
The winner had to fight off a very stern challenge from an extremely strong shortlist and is a thoroughly worthy addition to the Award's roll of honour. The book is a great tribute to a man who changed the sporting world forever a century ago.
Further information on the prize and the judging panel can be found on the William Hill site.
