The first combined Baseball offering from The Sporting News and Street & Smith's. The publishers have promised the best of both but we can't help feeling somewhat disappointed that Street & Smith's will no longer appear as a stand-alone yearbook. Let's hope that they're as good as their word.
To be fair, this first issue looks detailed enough and offers an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each of the teams, complete playing rosters, a statistical record of the 2007 season, a full schedule for the season, hot prospects, predictions and a College preview.
All of that is supported by a range of articles including a detailed assessment of steroids in Baseball, from the story of Brady Anderson and the 1996 season and carrying on to the present with an interview with Lance Williams, author of Game of Shadows.
