George Nepia was one of New Zealand's greatest ever Rugby Union players. First published in 1963, his autobiography covered his early years in the Maori community, the famous 1924/5 Invincibles tour of England that made his fame, and the ensuing career that ensured his immortality.

George Nepia is arguably New Zealand's greatest ever Rugby Union player, and someone for whom the word "Legend" is appropriate. At the age of 19, he played every game at full-back for the 1924-5 'Invincibles' tour of England, Wales, Ireland and France, a staggering achievement for one so young. The book recalls a "Golden Age" of Rugby Union in the 1920s and 1930s.

First published in 1963, his autobiography covered his early years, the 1924-25 tour; and his Rugby career. This edition has new material that gives a full picture of Nepia's life and rugby career. This includes a chapter by his original collaborator, Terry McLean on the other great All Black full-backs: Billy Wallace, Bob Scott and Don Clarke. There are also pieces by Huw Richards, Robert Gate, Peter Lush and Dave Farrar. These cover Hawke's Bay and the Ranfurly Shield; the 1924-25 tour's place in history; his time in British Rugby League; and a review of the famous 1986 This is Your Life New Zealand television programme, made three months before he died.
