This is the first 'complete record' of Workington AFC. Formed in 1921, they were Football League members from seasons 1951-52 to 1976-77. Recent seasons have seen promotions for the club, who now play in Conference North.
Author Tom Allen has contacted many of the men that played for the club in the Football League seasons. The book includes profiles and recollections of their playing days by 54 of them. For the statistician and supporter, full results and line-ups of all seasons since 1951 are provided, including all the non-League seasons from 1977-78 to Workington's promotion winning season of 2004-05.
Other contents include a history of the club and its predecessors in Cumberland (including 'the first Workington' that played from 1884 to 1911), a full list of Football League players and managers and final League tables.
