Previously, Ramprakash was considered a talented but unfilled cricketer. His career had been one of immense promise but failures at the highest level meant he was destined to follow in the footsteps of Graeme Hick as the most natural talent not to become a fixture in Test cricket.

Mark Ramprakash is arguably the greatest English batsman of his generation, but he is also an enigma.
