From Word of Sport:
Wenger has often said that he won't write his autobiography until he's finished with the game, something Arsenal fans are hoping won't be for a considerable time. He has though, apparently, cooperated with this biography. Rivoire, who collaborated with Robert Pires for his book - Footballeur - and was London correspondent of L'Equippe for 10 years, certainly has the requisite contacts at Arsenal needed to make this work. If he can use those contacts to get close to the methods (and occasional madness) of Wenger, this could be fascinating.
From the Publisher:
Wenger has said he is far too young to write an autobiography. Instead 'Arsenal' Wenger has cooperated with leading sports journalist Xavier Rivoire in this new authorised biography. Through exclusive interviews with Wenger, ex and current players, family, colleagues and observers. Rivooire has produced a complete portrait of the man who is celebrating his eleventh year at Arsenal and is credited with revolutionising one of the biggest clubs in Europe and with infleuncing approaches to the modern game. In an industry of disposable contracts and ruthless sackings, Wenger's longevity is a testament to his success and dedication, and to the loyalty of players and fans.
Rivoire has travelled across France, Japan, and England interviewing everyone involved in the Wenger story to produce the definitive biography of one of the most respected coaches in contemporary football. The result is a highly readable portrait of an astute and incisive manager, a shrewd talent scout and man manager, as well as an intensely private and intriguing man.
