From the Publisher:
In the past few years, Leeds United have experienced the most dramatic reversal of fortunes in the history of the Premiership. From the club's rise to a championship challenge and qualification for the Champions League semi-finals in 2001, to the brink of brankruptcy and a relegation dogfight in 2004, theirs is a story of financial mismanagement on a grand scale.
In living the dream they ran up debts of 100 million, and as the dream became a nightmare a succession of individuals in management and in the boardroom were made to pay the price. David O'Leary, Terry Venables and Peter Reid were all dismissed as managers after a brief period in the hotseat, while Peter Ridsdale was ousted as chairman to make way for Professor of Economics, John McKenzie.
He was then replaced by acting chairman and chief executive Trevor Birch, who had done such sterling work in keeping cash-strapped Chelsea afloat before Abramovich rode into Stamford Bridge with his roubles. Leeds were kept out of administration only by the tolerance of their major creditors. Weekly stays of execution were granted on the basis that one of several consortia formed to take over the club would successfully produce a rescue package.
From the Critics:
“The book's appeal lies in these lengthy post-meltdown interviews that Rostron... has secured... these illuminating testimonies make the book a worthy purchase for those who want to pick through the wreckage guided by eye-witnesses”

It's A Fact!
Barry White was the arranger of 'Harlem Shuffle' by Bob & Earl...not strictly a sporting fact, but an interesting one nonetheless!
